Research has proven its traditional uses for erectile dysfunction and atherosclerosis. Studies have also shown that it may be of some benefit for improving sex drive particularly in people with kidney failure, for protection against osteoporosis, for enhancing the immune system of people undergoing dialysis, and even inhibiting cancer cell growth (in vitro). People with a history of steroid use (i.e., prednisone) may especially benefit from using Epimedium.
